Master Hair Stylist & Master Nail Technician

My Story
I have always been a girly girl and had a passion for nails, jewelry and all things blingy. I’ve been a crafty artist and have enjoyed all kinds of craft hobbies. I started getting my nails done when I was 18. By the time I was 19, I started doing my own nails and those of my very patient friends and family. I was absolutely terrible at it, but I continued practicing. I was determined to learn how to do nails better.

My friends and family encouraged me to pursue a career in cosmetology. At the time, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life so, I decided to give it a try. I enrolled in cosmetology school and decided to learn as much as I possibly could, to further my career. I figured out I really enjoyed doing hair also, and the variety of skills doing hair, nails, waxing, facials and makeup. I graduated and began my career in cosmetology. I worked at several salons in the area. With each new salon, I gained new skills, techniques, and managerial styles.
It hasn’t all been fabulous though. I’ve learned a lot along the way. Once I turned my poor Grandmothers hair almost black. She was so supportive and loved me thru the mistake. I’m so thankful for all the experiences both good and bad. It’s those experiences that teach your life lessons.
I started my own salon suite in the late 90’s and did very well. I moved to Alaska in 1999 and started a salon there. It grew and I had several employees. I expanded and God really blessed my business. I decided to further my career and get my Instructors License to teach students. I started an apprentice program and taught several students. Also, I developed and wrote an e-book on how to start a salon. I began a Salon Coaching and Mentoring program as well.
In 2011 I returned to Texas and started at Legacy Salons in 2012. It has been a great place full of friendly co-workers and front desk staff. The owners of the building are wonderful and attentive to our needs. They keep the building updated and clean. I’m very happy here and plan to stay here.

Every business has a beginning, and this is where you talk about yours. People want to know what opportunity you saw or how your passion led to the creation of something new. Talk about your roots--people wanna know you have some.
